Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness in Child Protection

 Tuesday 22nd October | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Kells Peoples Resource Centre, Kells

This workshop will highlight the main principles of the Code and look at measures that clubs can take to create and maintain the safest possible environment for sport for young people.  Safeguarding 2 Club Children’s Officer Training

 Monday 14th October | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Claremont Stadium, Navan OR Thursday 7th November | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Windtown Unity Centre, Navan

Every club involved with children and young people should appoint a Club Children’s Officer. They act as the link between the children and the adults in the club. It is essential that those who wish to attend have completed Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness Training. Cost: €20 per person for clubs in Meath, €30 per person for clubs outside Meath. Safeguarding 3 Designated Liaison Person Workshop

Monday 11th November | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Windtown Unity Centre, Navan

The third part of Sport Ireland’s Child Welfare & Protection Training Programme is the Designated Liaison Person workshop. Every club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children. The Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse to TUSLA Child and Family Agency and/or An Garda Siochána. It is recommended that this person is a senior club person. It is essential that those who wish to attend this training have attended the Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness in Protection Workshop. Women’s Only Tag Rugby

Women’s Only Tag Rugby, in association with Navan Rugby Club continues on Monday 14th October at 7.30pm in Navan Rugby Club for 4 weeks!

The programme is suitable for complete beginners and is a fun way to exercise! You don’t need to have played rugby in the past, you don’t even need to know the rules of the game as all of the basics are covered on the night! It is suitable for women over the age of 16 years. Participants will receive excellent instruction from qualified coaches in Navan Rugby Club. The cost of the programme is €3 per night.

Women’s Netball

Women’s Netball, in association with Netball Ireland will run a 6 week programme starting Thursday 24th October at 7pm-8pm in Gormanston College. Netball is similar to Basketball but there is no backboard or dribbling! It is a fast, energetic activity that is based around tactics and teamwork!

This is the first Netball training in Meath and is ideal for beginners! Suitable for women over the age of 16 years. The cost of the programme is €3 per night.

0-3k Walk to Jog Kells

0 to 3k Walk to Jog Programme is a new 6 week programme designed to equip complete beginners to increase walking fitness and progress to jogging with relative ease. It is a simple progressive programme that begins with more walking than jogging, and gradually evolves into more jogging than walking.

This programme continues Wednesday 9th October at 7pm meeting at Kells People’s Resource Centre, Lord Edward St, Townparks, Kells. Cost is €15 for 4 weeks.

Community Sports Hub Navan presents a FREE 3 day Halloween Sports Camp! Take part in a range of sports and activities such as Basketball, GAA, Badminton and other fun games.

Olympic Handball – Navan

Come and try this fast paced game that focuses on agility and skill! Olympic Handball takes place every Tuesday in Scoil Naomh Eoin, Clonmagadden and St. Stephen’s NS, Johnstown.

Fun Games & Track Walk

While the kids play inside the hall with some fun back to basic games, the adults can join our walking group on the track! It’s a great way for the whole family to be more active!

Fun games are suitable for 4-8 year olds and track walk is suitable for 18 years+.

Circuit Training for Over 50’s

Come and try this adapted circuit class which includes a range of exercises to improve strength, mobility, flexibility, fitness and memory in a fun environment.

Learn 2 Cycle

Learn 2 Cycle aims to assist children with a disability to cycle independently. This programme which is held over 6 weeks focuses on empowering parents and giving them the tools to support their child in learning to cycle. The next Learn 2 Cycle programme will take place in Navan in November.

Swim Ability

Swim Ability is a 6 week swimming programme for children with a disability. The overall aim of the programme is to help children gain confidence in the water. Each child must be accompanied in the pool by an adult.

IWA Multi-Sport Junior Club Meath

This newly formed club in partnership with IWA Sport is suitable for children aged 5-15 years with a physical disability. Siblings are welcome also and the group are currently seeking volunteers!
