The number of Ukrainians arriving in Ireland is increasing daily. Many of those arriving will need to be accommodated in our local communities and supported by community organisations. Cultúr wants to be prepared to welcome and support those in need. In order to do so, Cultúr needs extra capacity to respond to the increasing demands that is placed on our services. We are asking members of the community and cooperate sector to support our work with the Ukrainian community in the form of financial donations, translation support, and donations of other skills.
Please donate to support our work HERE.
We are receiving many queries and we are currently stretched to capacity responding to the large volume of calls about the immediate arrival of Ukrainian families in the area.
The financial support will go towards recruiting more staff (including Ukrainian speakers) and volunteers to provide dedicated support, organising a respond team to attend to the calls and emails we have received, immediate arrival problems then how we support and communicate (e.g. Drop in Centre, organise conversational English classes) and trying to identify gaps, supports for the Ukrainian refugee community.
Cultúr Migrant Centre is a midlands-based community organisation with over 18 years track record of working with asylum seekers and refugees, specifically those in crisis.
We would like to thank those that have reached out to Cultúr to enquire about the local response. If you are in a position to volunteer with the Cultúr Migrant Centre in order to respond to this crisis please get in touch.
