Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness in Child Protection

Tuesday 24th September | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Claremont Stadium, Navan

This workshop will highlight the main principles of the Code and look at measures that clubs can take to create and maintain the safest possible environment for sport for young people. Safeguarding 2 Club Children’s Officer 

Thursday 19th September | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Windtown Unity Centre, Navan OR

Monday 14th October | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Claremont Stadium, Navan

Every club involved with children and young people should appoint a Club Children’s Officer. They act as the link between the children and the adults in the club. It is essential that those who wish to attend have completed Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness Training. Cost: €20 per person for clubs in Meath, €30 per person for clubs outside Meath. Safeguarding 3 Designated Liaison Person Workshop

Wednesday 2nd October | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Windtown Unity Centre, Navan

The third part of Sport Ireland’s Child Welfare & Protection Training Programme is the Designated Liaison Person workshop. Every club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children. The Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse to TUSLA Child and Family Agency and/or An Garda Siochána. It is recommended that this person is a senior club person.

It is essential that those who wish to attend this training have attended the Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness in Protection Workshop. Cost: €20 per person for clubs in Meath, €30 per person for clubs outside Meath. To book a place, please call Lynn on 046-9067337.

 

 

Sports Injuries First Aid Training

Wednesday 9th October | 6.30pm-10pm | Claremont Stadium, Navan

This course is aimed at coaches, mentors, teachers, supervisors, players and volunteers. The course covers a comprehensive range of topics to prepare participants to administer First Aid care. Participants will learn practical skills so that they can deal competently with situations that may arise. Cost: €30 per person for clubs in Meath, €40 per person for clubs outside Meath. Games on the Green

Games on the Green is a FREE community event that will be held in 3 green areas in Navan. The activities will include Cricket, Tag Rugby and other fun games. Suitable for ages of 4-14 year olds.

Walk ‘n’ Tone

Come and try a FREE exercise session using the outdoor gym equipment on Monday 12th August at 7pm in Blackwater Park, Navan. The session will also incorporate a walk with a trained walking leader. Ideal for beginners. Participants must be over 18 years of age. Please wear runners and appropriate clothing. Meath Running Group – Block 3

Learn 2 Cycle Ashbourne

Learn 2 Cycle aims to assist children with a disability to cycle independently. This programme which is held over 6 weeks focuses on empowering parents and giving them the tools to support their child in learning to cycle. The next Learn 2 Cycle programme will take place in Ashbourne in September.

Swim Ability

The aim of this programme is to increase water confidence for children with disabilities. The programme is co-ordinated by Meath LSP and supported by Kells Swimming Pool.

The programme will take place for approx 45 minutes per week over a 6 week period.

Time:30pm-2.15pm

Cost: €45 per participant
