Dear JPC Administrator

The Commission on the Future of Policing is undertaking a series of regional open evenings throughout January. These are informal opportunities for representatives of community and interest groups, as well as individuals, to meet members of the Commission and discuss their views on the future of policing in Ireland. I would be grateful if you could forward this invitation to members of your Joint Policing Committee, as well as your colleagues involved in policing and social inclusion, and others who may be interested in attending.

A list of dates of these events is below.

We are in the process of finalising venues (details of which will be on our website), and I would be grateful if you could circulate details of these events to members of your Joint Policing Committees. We would very much welcome your attendance and hear more about policing issues in your area. This will give the Commission invaluable insights to help inform our deliberations and our report to government.

Further, the Commission is inviting submissions until the 31 January, and in addition to meeting you at a forthcoming open evening, we would very much welcome submissions from you.

Carrick on Shannon  Wednesday, 10 January (6-8pm), Hive Enterprise Centre

We will be holding a formal Town Hall event in Wood Quay, Dublin on the evening of Monday, 22 January, details of which will follow.

There is more information on the work of the Commission on our website (www.policereform.ie) and please feel free to contact me if you have any queries.

Please forward this email to anyone you think would appreciate knowing about these events and the opportunity to make a submission to us.

Kind regards

Peter Stafford
