On 20 September 2017, the Minister for Justice and Equality, Charlie Flanagan, renewed the Text Alert Rebate Scheme for a further year. Muintir na Tíre will administer this scheme on behalf of all eligible Text Alert Groups. The scheme will see groups receive a rebate on their eligible operating costs. The exact amount of the rebate will be determined after all applications have been received but you cannot receive more than the total of eligible costs which are submitted.

To be eligible, groups must:

·         Have registered with An Garda Síochána using form TA1, before 31 August 2017

·         Comply with the agreed Text Alert guidelines

Eligible costs include the following costs for the previous 12 months:

·         Costs of issuing texts

·         Cost of insurance

Groups should submit a completed application Text-Alert-Rebate-form-2017-.doc to Muintir na Tíre before 30 November 2017 on the 2017 application form (please note changed from last year and essential that correct form is used) and enclose evidence of eligible costs. This can take the form of an invoice dated anytime within the previous 12 months. Please note the closing date will be strictly adhered to this year.
