Growing your own not only provides a local source of fresh, delicious, nutritious food, but it’s also a powerful positive environmental activity that we can do at a local level, supporting biodiversity and soil health – and of course that sense of community spirit!
Get Meath Growing is part of the national Get Ireland Growing campaign, which calls on households, communities and workplaces across Ireland, to ‘sow a seed’ this summer.
Meta and GIY are partnering on this ‘royally’ special campaign for communities in Meath to recognize the amazing growing opportunities across the county.
As part of the campaign, 50 lucky communities will receive their very own Salad GROWBox, to get growing some delicious greens this summer! Grow It Yourself will support you along the way with growing tips and tricks, as well as tips on how you can live more sustainably through small actions you can take day to day.
Communities who register to Get Meath Growing will have the chance to win an overall prize worth €8,000 to bring their community growing to the next level.
Supported by Meta, who have been part of the community in Meath since breaking ground on their Clonee Data Centre in 2016, the prize includes gardening equipment and materials, a garden planting plan and support from GIY’s community team to ensure successful food growing in your community space.
Register your community group by 5th July to be in with the chance to win one of fifty GROWBoxes to ‘green up’ your growing space with a range of delicious salads at Get Meath Growing – GIY Ireland Ltd.
Whether you have space in a community garden, the green area in your estate, sports club or local amenity – you can sign up to get Get Growing in Meath this summer!
