2023 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS)

The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme provides funding for the development of new and existing outdoor recreational infrastructure in rural areas.

The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, has launched the 2023 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.

The 2023 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) will see the development of natural amenities such as Ireland’s mountains, lakes, beaches, bogs, walkways, greenways and blueways.

Meath County Council is seeking expressions of interest for projects under the following headings:

Project Development Measure – Grant amount up to €50,000 for development costs for strategic large scale projects

Meath County Council are now seeking expressions of interest under Project Development Measure.

Application forms to be submitted to the Community Section at community@meathcoco.ie

Closing Date: Friday 14th July 2023

 

Measure 1 – Grant amount up to €30,000 for small scale repair/development/promotion and marketing

Measure 2 – Grant amount up to €200,000 for medium scale repair/upgrade and new trail/amenity development

Measure 3 – Grant amount up to €500,000 for strategic large scale repair/upgrade and new strategic trail/amenity development

Meath County Council are now seeking expressions of interest under Measures 1, 2 & 3.

Application forms to be submitted to the Community Section at community@meathcoco.ie

Closing Date: Friday 25th August 2023

 

As set out in the scheme details, projects with evidence of strong community engagement will be prioritised.

As in previous years, the scheme does not include sporting activities which take place in the countryside on confined courses or pitches specifically designed and constructed for those events e.g., golf, football, show jumping or motorised activities such as quads/scramblers.
