Starting at the end of September Meath Arts Office are teaming up with Michael Fortune (from folklore.ie) to deliver this once off online programme for the county.

Since the late 1990s Michael has been using film and video to record and share folklore in communities through the length and breadth of Ireland and in recent years he has been sharing his digital skills, know-how and expertise to fellow practitioners via online courses and programmes. This new 8-week programme in Meath looks at the use of digital skills in the recording, sharing and research of folkloric topics and stories, digital map making, field/placename recording, and the accessing and animating of digital archival material in the local library.

The course is supported by Meath Arts Office and is being provided FREE to participants. It will be delivered via ZOOM with a max class size of 15 people. Each session is two hours in duration and each week, the group will be upskilled in everyday mobile and digital technology and given hands-on tasks and applying these in practice. The produced content will be reviewed by Michael in a group peer setting.
