National Heritage Week, one of Ireland’s largest public events will kick off tomorrow, Saturday, 14th August and run until Sunday, 22nd August, and this year is all about getting as many people involved in heritage as possible.
The Heritage Council is delighted to have received more than 730 projects as part of the initiative, all of which are showcased on the National Heritage Week website.
Over recent months, project organisers have been working on their submissions and have produced some creative, inspiring, and engaging heritage projects for their communities and heritage enthusiasts to enjoy.
Search projects 2021 on the National Heritage Week website for projects that have ‘opened the door to heritage’ and included heritage newcomers, heritage sharing and heritage for all ages in their plans. You can search by county, theme or key word to find the projects, online events and in-person events that are of most interest to you.
If you are exploring the heritage projects and come across something that you find interesting, we would love to hear from you. Share your story with us on social media using: #HeritageWeek2021 and #OpenTheDoorToHeritage.
