Summer Stars Reading Adventure: Meath Libraries
Summer Stars is the free national reading programme for children that takes place in all public libraries and online from 14th of June until the end of August. All children throughout the country are invited to join the adventure and to enjoy the fun and pleasure of reading and writing over the summer.
Summer Stars is non-competitive and every child who reads even one book/ ebook is regarded as having completed the programme – and it’s all completely free!
Meath County Council Library Service Summer Stars Reading Adventure 2021
Step 1: Get your Reading Card
Drop in to your local Meath Library and register for the Reading Adventure to get your Reading Card. Everyone who registers will be entered in to our weekly and monthly prize draws. You can also download and print your own Reading Card below.
Step 2: Read, read, read!
You can borrow from your library, read ebooks from BorrowBox, Digital Magazines from Libby or even material from home. No matter where or what you read it all counts! Keep track of your progress on your Reading Card and get it stamped each time you visit your library.
Step 3: Listen to our Online Storytime
We have a weekly Online Storytime slot every Tuesday at 11.45 am on our Facebook page. Or you can catch up with all of our stories on our YouTube Channel too.
Step 4: Take part in our Summer Stars Competitions
We have quizzes, competitions and fun online activities organised for July and August. Join in to keep yourself entertained.
Prizes
Everyone who registers for the Reading Adventure will be entered in to our prize draws. We’ll have weekly and monthly draws and you could win passes to Tayto Park or Navan Adventure Centre or even an Amazon Fire Tablet. Or you could win some great outdoor toys like swingball sets, scooters, mini golf and lots more.
