HERITAGE WEEK 2018 KICKS OFF IN MEATH

Get a chance to a be an archaeologist at a community dig, enjoy the Salmon of Knowledge Festival in Trim, try your hand at writing your name in Ogham at Knowth, enjoy a family fun day at Balrath Woods, learn about bees and bee keeping in Oldcastle, Dunboyne and Kilmessan, or enjoy free admission and tours of OPW sites. These are just some of the activities you can engage in during Heritage Week in Meath.

National Heritage Week is part of European Heritage Days, a joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Union.  Heritage Week is co-ordinated by the Heritage Council in conjunction with the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht with support from the Office of Public Works and Fáilte Ireland.

With nearly 100 events taking place throughout the county including walks, talks, exhibitions, family fun days and living history displays there is literally something for everyone.  Most of these events are free and many are suitable for children.
