Dear Sir/Madam,

The New Seniors Alert Scheme was recently launched by Minister Michael Ring TD, Minister for Rural and Community Development in Third Age Foundation in Summerhill, Co. Meath. Please see link here to the Ministers press release.

The objective of the Seniors Alert Scheme (SAS) is to encourage community support for the vulnerable older people in our community through the provision of personal monitored alarms to enable older persons, of limited means, to continue to live securely in their homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind.

The scheme is administered locally by community groups who have regular engagement with older people.  We are writing to you to bring the launch of the new scheme to your attention, and we would be delighted if you could highlight to members of the PPN and to any other relevant community organisations that you engage with who may be interested in supporting the delivery this scheme.

We appreciate your assistance in promoting this important Programme supporting vulnerable older people in the community.  If there is any further assistance we can provide to your PPN to promote the scheme to community groups interested in supporting the scheme, please do let us know.  We have promotional material on the scheme and we would endeavour to get a representative to any general information events the PPN may be hosting to community groups who this may be of interest to.

Do not hesitate to contact us at the number above or by email to sas@pobal.ie in this regard.
