Rethink Ireland are delivering free Social Enterprise Champion training, funded by IPB Insurance and the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.

We recently launched Creating a Social Enterprise, a free online course that gives people a practical first step in exploring and developing a social enterprise idea.

The Social Enterprise Champions training is designed to complement the digital course, to equip frontline staff in, PPN’s, Local Development Companies, Local Enterprise Offices and Connected Hubs to recognise potential social enterprise ideas, have an informed first conversation, and confidently refer people to the course and other supports.

In this practical session you will be guided through the following:

• understand what constitutes a social enterprise;
• learn how to use the PASTA framework to help identify and explore a potential social enterprise;
• understand how to have an informed initial conversation with somebody who has a social enterprise idea;
• receive a walkthrough of the Rethink Ireland Creating a Social Enterprise digital course and understand further how best to refer people to it;
• receive a short Champion Toolkit and promotional materials that can be shared through your channels.

The aim is to give you the confidence and practical tools to make that first conversation useful and help the social entrepreneur take the right next step.
