The Dunshaughlin & District Historical Society ‘s annual Famine graveyard Commemoration Ceremony will be taking place on Sunday 20th September, 2026 at 3pm in the Famine Graveyard (behind Dunshaughlin Workhouse).

This will be followed by a talk on the”National Famine Way”  by Edel Mc. Weeney  Moran  from Strokestown  in Dunshaughlin Pastoral Centre with refreshments.

Discover the story of the National Famine Way, the 165 km trail tracing the footsteps of the 1,490 men, women & children who left Strokestown in 1847, and how their journey is being remembered and shared today through this unique heritage trail.”
