Meath County Council is delighted to announce funding for community-led events taking place during Climate Action Week 2026 (12-18 October).

Funding of €500 to €3,000 is available to support events that raise awareness of climate action, encourage community collaboration, promote practical local solutions, and inspire long-term behaviour change.

Eligible applicants include:

•  Community and voluntary groups
•  Tidy Towns groups
•  Sports clubs
•  Residents’ associations
•  Schools and education groups (in partnership with community organisations)
•  Not-for-profit organisations based in County Meath

Examples of eligible events include: 

•  Community gardening and food-growing workshops
•  Sustainable transport and repair café initiatives
•  Biodiversity activities such as tree planting and clean-ups
•  Waste reduction and swap events
•  Energy, retrofit and climate awareness workshops

Funding can be used for materials and supplies, promotion and printing, facilitator fees, venue hire, and light refreshments.
