Farmer Health and Safety Training

Social Farming Ireland are offering free Health and Safety Training sessions for Farm Open Days and Social Farming and other farm events, to farmers to promote best practice and bring more awareness and to minimise risks on farms for farmers, having safe open days or safe events on farms.
You can choose one of 10 online session dates between July and September 2026 (please only register for one – various time slots available)
This will be followed by 6 on farm sessions across all regions (On farm training tickets available soon!)
The training session topics to include: Livestock handling, tractor and machine safety, working at heights, working with slurry and open tanks, awareness of children and older people on farms, looking after one’s own health.
Training will be facilitated by Jim Dockery, owner of Towra Livestock Services, Offaly. Jim has worked for over 30 years as National Health and Safety Manager with FRS Network and has vast experience in Health and Safety in Agriculture and related businesses.
Led by the Social Farming Ireland National Network based in Leitrim Development Company CLG – this project is funded by the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine – Farmer Health, Safety and Wellbeing Project 2026.
