Local Environment Action Fund (LEAF) 2026 – €100,000 available to Meath

Funding of €1,000 to €25,000 available for community environmental projects across County Meath

The Local Environment Action Fund (LEAF) supports community-led projects that enhance biodiversity, tackle climate change and improve the local environment.

Applications are now open and close at 4pm on Friday 24 July 2026.

Groups must be registered with the local Public Participation Network (PPN) and show collaboration with at least one other community stakeholder.

What Projects Can Be Funded?

Example projects include:
• Tree planting and community orchards
• Pollinator-friendly planting and biodiversity projects
• Wildflower meadows and habitat creation
• Sustainable travel initiatives
• Community recycling and waste reduction programmes
• Water conservation projects
• Environmental awareness campaigns and training
• Climate resilience and flood mitigation initiatives
• Renewable energy projects for community facilities
