OpenLitterMap has been recognised by the United Nations as a Digital Public Good and has been endorsed by UNESCO.

Nearly 10,000 people around the world, and many community groups including TidyTowns, have used OpenLitterMap to record, map, and tell the story of the work they do.

In this webinar, founder & geographer Seán Lynch will demonstrate the newly released version of the platform and invite TidyTowns members to start documenting public evidence and contributing to the data record.

During this webinar you will learn:

– How any TidyTowns member can use OpenLitterMap in seconds to record important data

– A New TidyTowns Evidence Report — maps, hotspots, impact reports

– Why you should participate in a 6-month pilot during Ireland’s EU Council Presidency (July–December 2026) to demonstrate citizen science as an Irish citizen-led deliverable

– Introduction to the new LitterWeek Digital Skills Training Challenge

The session is free, and has been communicated via the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht TidyTowns Unit, and will be recorded for others to watch later
