Research Call – Experiences of Young Carers in Ireland: Participant Recruitment

🌟 Did you grow up caring for a family member? Áine Evans, a Master’s student at Utrecht University, wants to hear your story.
Áine is researching the experiences of adults (18+) who grew up caring for a family member in Ireland or the Netherlands — and what it felt like to be a young carer, especially whether you felt recognised, supported, and connected at the time.
You may be a good fit if:
✅ You are 18 or older
✅ You grew up in Ireland or the Netherlands
✅ You supported a family member with illness, disability, mental health challenges, addiction, or other care needs during childhood or adolescence
You don’t need to have called yourself a carer at the time — many people only look back and recognise their role later in life.
💬 What’s involved?
A relaxed, confidential online conversation of around 30–45 minutes — you share only what you’re comfortable with.
Can’t do a live interview? No problem! A flexible voice note option is also available — Áine can send you a few short questions to answer in your own time, in whatever language you feel most comfortable in.
