Meath County Council is developing a scheme for the improvement of traffic in Julianstown Village.

To inform the study we are engaging with people who live, work and visit Julianstown to understand how you move around the area and if there are any constraints the project team should be made aware of.

Further information about the project and an online feedback form can be found on the project website www.julianstowntrafficrelief.ie from 16 February to 30 March 2026.

The scope of the Julianstown Traffic Relief Scheme is to investigate and identify viable strategic solutions that would improve current road conditions in Julianstown and reduce traffic volumes through the village.

This stage includes the identification and mapping of the nature and the extent of potential constraints that exist within the identified Study Area (mapped below) of the scheme. This allows for the identification of key constraints and where they may impact upon the development of a proposed solution.

During this phase, the Constraints Study will be developed to identify environmental, technical, and social factors to allow the comparison of different solutions. Within these broad categories of constraints, specific impacts on, Population and Human Health, Planning Context, Land, Geology & Soils, Water, Climate, Cultural Heritage and the Landscape will be assessed.

To inform this phase of the study the team would like to consult with people who live, work and visit Julianstown. This online form asks questions about how you travel in/to/from Julianstown and about any constraints the team should be aware of at this stage.

The study area is shown in the figure below:

Public Consultation will be held through an Online Feedback Form from the 16th of February – 30th March 2026.

Public participation is welcomed and encouraged.
