Meath Partnership, on behalf of the Meath Local Action Group, is now accepting Expressions of Interest under the LEADER Programme 2023–2027 for projects that promote innovation, sustainability, and rural job creation.

This call focuses on “Innovative On-Farm Enterprise Development” and aims to support projects that diversify farm income, create jobs, and promote sustainable, environmentally friendly practices.

Eligible applicants include farm families, sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, and individuals engaged in agri-related enterprises. Projects may involve value-added production, artisan food or craft development, eco-tourism, renewable energy, and other initiatives that enhance the rural economy and contribute to long-term sustainability.

The total budget for this call is €125,000, with a maximum grant of €30,000 per project up to 75% funding rate. Successful EOIs will progress to the next stage, where a full grant application can be submitted.

Eligible activities may include, but are not limited to:

– Equipment for on-farm processing, manufacturing, or packaging of value-added goods

– Renewable energy generation or energy efficiency systems supporting enterprise diversification

– Artisan food or craft production facilities and specialised tools

– Eco- or agri-tourism infrastructure or visitor experience development

– Sustainable and low-carbon technologies that enhance on-farm enterprises

– Development of specialty or niche product lines (e.g., cosmetics, textiles, etc.)
