Meath County Development Plan: Review – online event 7pm Wednesday 22nd October & In-Person event 23rd October 4-8pm

The Meath County Development Plan (CDP) 2021-2027 is currently under review, with the aim of making a new 6-year CDP covering 2027-2033.
Issues & Options Paper
As part of the process of making the new 6-year CDP, we have published an Issues & Options Paper.
This paper seeks the views of the public on what should be included in the new CDP. The paper does not seek rezoning proposals, which can be submitted at a later point in the CDP process (Draft Plan Stage).
Online Event: 22nd October 2025 7pm
To promote the Issues & Options Paper, we are holding an online webinar on Wednesday 22nd October 2025 at 7pm.
This webinar will be published on the Meath County Council website and MCC social media accounts. It will be accessible to all who wish to view it or take part by asking questions of the Forward Planning Team. For ease, a QR Code allowing access to this webinar accompanies this newsletter and will go live at 7 pm on the Oct 22nd.

In-Person Event: 23rd October 2025 4-8pm
We will also be holding an in-person public consultation event in Buvinda House on Thursday 23rd October 2025 which will allow members of the public to directly engage with the Forward Planning Team in-person. This event will run from 4-8pm and we encourage members of the PPN to engage with these public consultation events.
Submissions:
Details on how to make a submission on the Issues & Options Paper can be found here by viewing the newspaper notice in the materials section of the webpage or by scrolling to the bottom of the webpage. Any queries relating to the CDP can be sent to cdpquery@meathcoco.ie.
The CDP Review period typically takes approximately 2 years, and we would encourage members of the PPN to engage with the process throughout particularly at the following points in the process:
Timeline for Review Process
Issues Papers placed on public display – 22nd September 2025 – 17th November 2025.
Public display of Draft Plan – 2nd September 2026 – 11th November 2026.
Public display of Proposed Material Alterations – 28th May 2027 – 25th June 2027.
We would strongly encourage you to get involved throughout the CDP review process and to make sure your communities know about the importance of the CDP.
Although we will be promoting public participation throughout the CDP review process, we would encourage you to let your communities know that they can make submissions at various stages throughout the CDP review process.
Le gach dea-ghuí,
The MCC Forward Planning Team
