Applications for the FLAG Coastal Communities Development Scheme 2025–2029 are open.

This Targeted Call will accept projects which will be completed by 31 October 2025. Applications will be made via BIM’s new online grant system.

This is a competitive call and eligible projects will be ranked for funding based on FLAG strategy priorities.

BIM will provide support through online information sessions and video tutorials.

The scheme is jointly funded by the Irish Government and the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF).

The FLAG Scheme 2025–2029 supports a wide range of coastal projects.

Funding is available to:

• Individuals

• Small-scale coastal fishing & other vessel owners

• Micro and small blue economy enterprises

• Fisheries collectives and co operatives

• Community groups, co-operatives, and charities

Projects must be within 10km of the coast or have a direct impact on coastal communities. The scheme is jointly funded by the Irish Government and the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF).

The first Targeted Call opens from 22 April to 20 May 2025, for projects that can complete by 31 October 2025.
