Aontas have developed a unique Community Education Map of the island of Ireland, and we are looking to have as many relevant grassroots organisations listed as possible. 

As the advocacy organisation for the adult and community education sector, we believe this map has huge potential in highlighting the important work we do, and be used as a practical tool for learners, researcher policymakers and practitioners. 

We would like to invite your organisation to list themselves on the new online Map of Community Education that AONTAS has developed with the Community Education Facilitators’ Association (CEFA).

Why should you #PutYourselfOnTheMap?

People working in community education across Ireland are going above and beyond to help people get back to lots of different kinds of learning. 

This is still under-valued and we want to change that. 

The map will help people to get and stay connected. It’s an opportunity for solidarity and a show of strength.

There are thousands of community education groups and organisations working right now in cities, towns, and villages across the country.  

With this map, we’re saying Community Ed is Here.

What’s our vision for the map? 

Our vision is that thousands of people and groups who are providing community education across Ireland will feel seen, heard, and valued.

We’re working with Community Education Facilitators and the Community Education Facilitators Association (CEFA) to connect with community educators and find out what is really needed and what will make a real difference in the visibility of community education. 

We want this map to be used as a practical tool for policymakers, providers, managers, and learners to be able to find out about community education and gain real insights into its impact and possibilities. 

How to put yourself on the map  

Putting yourself on the Map is really easy! All you need to do is register through a survey that takes less than 5 minutes to complete. You can also complete the survey at https://map.aontas.com/survey-form-submission/.
