Eamon Ryan, Minister for Transport, has published for public consultation an Issues Paper on Shared Mobility Hubs.

Shared Mobility Hubs: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities: Download or View

The Climate Action Plan 2024 (CAP24) and the National Sustainable Mobility Policy (SMP) include several actions to expand the availability of shared mobility options in Ireland.

This paper outlines the rationale for the development of shared mobility and mobility hubs in the context of Ireland’s emissions reduction targets, as well as setting out some of the key issues to be explored and addressed within an Irish context. These include considerations around governance, operations, data, communications, accessibility, safety and inclusion, as well as any further areas on which stakeholders may choose to comment.

It is intended that all submissions to this consultation will be considered as part of a process to develop a new draft Policy Statement on Mobility Hubs.

The consultation period will be open until 3 May. Stakeholders and interested parties will have the opportunity to respond to the issues raised in the Issues Paper, as well as put forward any other relevant issues for consideration.

To make a submission online, please complete the questionnaire available here .

However, should an online submission not be feasible, submissions are welcomed via email to mobilitysubmissions@transport.gov.ie or send by post to Sustainable Mobility Management and Implementation Division, Department of Transport, Leeson Lane, Dublin, D02 TR60. The department would encourage respondents to limit submissions to 2,000 words.

Please note that submissions received may be published on the Department of Transport’s website.

The closing date for receipt of submissions is close of business, 3 May 2024.
