The  ‘Winter Initiative’ launched in November by Minister for Sport and Physical Activity, Thomas Byrne is supported by Sport Ireland, the network of local sports partnerships and national governing bodies of sport. The “Winter Initiative” provides opportunities locally for women, men, children, grandparents, cousins, neighbours, friends, work colleagues to get out walking, running, cycling or participating in some form of physical activity.

Local clubs and groups are also encouraged to post and advertise their events and activities online (https://www.sportireland.ie/winter-initiative).
