Grants & Funding Update- January 2024

Please find an update below on some current funding programmes for community groups which may be of interest.  

These programmes are open for applications now and will close in the coming days and weeks.

Community Action & Facilities 

  • Community Climate Action Programme:
  • Grant support for community climate change projects on themes of Community Energy, Travel, Food & Waste, Shopping & Recycling and Local Climate & Environmental Action. Small grant of up to €20k, medium grant of €21-€50k or for a larger project grant of €51-€100k. Closing date 28th February 2024. Details here
  • Local Enhancement Programme 2024:
  • Capital grants for facility repairs and improvements, energy efficiency projects and equipment purchase. Grants also ringfenced for Women’s Groups. Closing date: 9th February 2024. Details here
  • Community Walks Fund – Ireland Lights Up 2024:
  • The fund is open for applications from Sports Clubs, Community Groups and Disability Services.To qualify for funding, clubs and groups must host a six-week walking programme commencing in January. Clubs and communities already committed to the Ireland Lights Up campaign are eligible to apply for funding. Closing date: 9th January 2024. Details here

Environment

  • Community Heritage & Biodiversity Grant Scheme 2024: Waterways Ireland.
  • Projects related to inland waterways’ heritage and biodiversity: data collection & research,  heritage management, engagement with heritage and biodiversity. Closing date 31st January 2024. Details here
  • Carranstown Environmental Projects Grant Scheme 2023
  • Grants available to community groups for environmental improvement and recreational/ community facility projects in the vicinity of the Carranstown waste management facility. Closing date 26th January 2024. Details here

Heritage & Conservation:

  • Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2024.
  • Repair and conservation of protected structures. Grant range from €2,500 – €15,000. Closing date 17th January 2024. Details here
  • Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2024 (BHIS) – Routine Maintenance and Minor Repairs.
  • Grants for routine maintenance and minor repairs up to a maximum of €2,500. Closing date 17th January 2024. Details here
  • Historic Structures Fund 2024. Conservation and enhancement of historic structures. €15,000 up to €50,000: essential repairs and smaller capital works for conservation of heritage structures. €50,000 up to €200,000: larger enhancement, refurbishment or reuse projects involving heritage structures. Closing date 17th January 2024Details here
  • Historic Structures Fund 2024 – Historic Shopfronts.
  • Grant range €15,000 – €50,000: essential repairs and small capital works. Closing date 17th January 2024Details here
  • Historic Structures Fund 2024 – Traditional Irish-Language Shop Facades.
  • Grants between €15,000 and €50,000 : essential repairs and small capital works for the refurbishment and conservation of historic Irish-language shop facades, windows, signage, etc. Closing date 17th January 2024. Details here
  • Community Monuments Fund 2024:
  • Grants for conservation, maintenance, protection and presentation of archaeological monuments. Grants up to €100,000: essential repairs and capital works. Grants of up to €30,000:  development of Conservation Management Plans/Reports, Specification of WorksGrants of up to €30,000: enhancement of access infrastructure, interpretation projects, small scale emergency conservation worksClosing date 24th January 2024. Details here
  • Heritage Organisation Support FundHeritage Council.
  • Providing funding towards the core costs of not-for-profit non-governmental organisations working in the heritage sector in IrelandClosing date 15th January 2024Details here

Arts:

  • 2024 Centre Culturel Irlandais Paris Artist’s Residency Bursary.
  • Open to practising professional artists of all disciplines living in county Meath, this bursary provides a month-long residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris. Closing date 16th January 2024. Details here

Community Education

  • LMETB Community Education – Spring 2024 programme:
  • Community groups can avail of a range of courses on art & crafts, health & well-being, horticulture, IT. Closing date 12th January 2024. Details here
