Safeguarding 1 Basic Awareness in Child Protection Workshop

21st November | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Zoom (FULLY BOOKED, waiting list in place)

30th November | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Zoom 

This workshop will highlight the measures that clubs can take to create and maintain the safest possible environment for sport for young people. This course is essential for anyone who is in contact with children in their club.

Safeguarding 3 Designated Liaison Person (DLP) Workshop

22nd November | 6.30pm-9.30pm | Zoom (ONLINE)

Every club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children. The Designated Liaison Person is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse to TUSLA Child and Family Agency and/or An Garda Siochána. It is recommended that this person is a senior club person. 

It is essential that those who wish to attend the Safeguarding 3 Designated Liaison Person (DLP) Workshop have attended the Safeguarding 1 Child Welfare & Protection Workshop.

Womens’ Social Soccer

Meath LSP and FAI are collaborating with local clubs for a Social Soccer programme for women and girls. The programme is open to all women 16+ from complete beginners to players with previous experience and who would like to engage or re-engage in a social soccer club lead programme. The main emphasis is on FUN and PARTICIPATION so what are you waiting for, come along and play!

  • Rossin Rovers FC – Wednesdays @ 7pm
  • Kentstown FC – Wednesdays @ 8pm
  • Parkvilla FC – Thursdays @ 9pm
  • Dunshaughlin FC – Fridays @ 7.30pm

Socia-Ball for Women

Come and Try Social Basketball for Women in Ashbourne and Athboy, suitable for complete beginners and players with previous experience. This programme is a fantastic opportunity to learn basketball skills in a fun and social setting, without the pressure of competition. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Youth Basketball

Meath LSP are delighted to collaborate with Basketball Ireland to continue Social Basketball for young people aged 10-16yrs. This programme is suitable for complete beginners or those who wish engage or re-engage playing basketball in a non-competitive environment.

0-3k & 3-5k Social Running Programmes

The 0-3k & 3-5k Social Running Programmes are continuing for the month of November in 4 locations, Navan, Trim, Tara & Enfield.

This 4 week programme is open to both men and women and suited for walkers who would like to increase to jogging fitness or for those returning to running after an absence. This programme will guide you step by step for 4 weeks making the transition from walking to jogging easy and fun. Cost is €15.

  • Tara Sports Grounds (Ross Cross) – from Monday 6th November @ 6.30pm
  • Navan (Claremont Stadium) –  from Monday 6th November @ 7pm
  • Enfield (Enfield GAA) –  from Monday 6th November @ 7pm
  • Trim (Supermacs) – from Monday 6th November @ 7pm

Mastering Midlife for Women

‘Exercise, Nutrition & Menopause’

Irene Clark (Midlife Coaching Professional) will host the 4-hour online workshop Mastering Midlife for Women over 2 evenings. The workshop is ideal for all women from 35+ years, who are wondering how peri-menopause and menopause is affecting them mentally and physically and how making small changes can increase energy levels, improve sleep & mood and decrease weight gain. 

Cost of 4-hour online workshop is €20 – places are limited so early booking is advised. 

Taking place on Wednesday 15th & Wednesday 22nd November from 7pm-9pm online.

Pickleball

Pickleball is a paddle racquet sport very similar to a social form of adapted tennis. It is played with a light plastic ball, a lower height net, on courts similar in size to a badminton court. It is a fun, easy to play activity, which encourages movement and combines elements from tennis, badminton and table tennis. Pickleball can be played in singles or doubles format. Suitable for all Adults 18+ and skill abilities.

Pickleball will continue in the following areas in November, come along and give it a go!

  • Navan (Claremont Stadium) – Mondays @ 12pm 
  • Ashbourne Community Centre – Thursdays @ 10.30am 
  • Bettystown (Coláiste na hInse) – Wednesdays @ 8pm

Mature Movers

Mature Movers is a 6 week programme for adults (50+) including activities such as seated exercise to music, resistance exercises with resistance bands, core stability, balance, seated Pilates and fall prevention exercises. 

Mature Movers is ideally suited to older adults as it provides for enjoyable social interaction, fun and activities.

Run Jump Throw

The Run Jump Throw programme is aimed at children with Autism / Intellectual disability aged 5-12 years. The sessions will include a variety of Sports, Fun Games and Obstacle Challenges all adapted to the participants needs.

The programme aims to improve the participant’s fundamental movement skills and increase their confidence in participating in regular physical activity. The involvement of siblings is encouraged during the programme.

Run Jump Throw Navan

Date: Mondays November 6th – 20th

Time: 4pm-5pm

Venue: Scoil Naomh Eoin Navan

Duration: 3 weeks

Cost: €5 per Family

Run Jump Throw Dunboyne

Date: Wednesdays November 8th – 22nd

Junior Vision Impaired Football

Meath LSP In collaboration with Vision Sports Ireland, FAI & Donacarney Celtic FC are delighted to support the launch of a Vision Impaired Football hub for the North East region.

The programme is open to all children with a vision impairment and previous experience is not necessary. The group will give children the chance to give football a try with the aim of continuing an ongoing program for the growth of vision impaired football clubs in Ireland.

Venue: Colaiste na hlnse, Bettystown

Dates Remaining: November 18th & December 2nd

Time: 11:30am-12:30pm

Age: 6-16 years
