Save the Date: Create National Networking Day 2023

We are delighted to announce our National Networking Day 2023, hosted on Thursday 19 October at Project Arts Centre in Dublin.  

This year’s event will explore the intersections between collaborative arts practices and climate justice. It will draw on examples of best practice, community engagement and grassroots activism while convening artist practitioners and civil society organisations concerned with these vital issues. This event is a unique opportunity for those working in the field to meet with like-minded peers, to share and network, to learn from each other and devise future actions.

The West’s Awake Community Weekend, running the 19th and 20th August in Tuam town, features home grown musicians, artists, crafters, performers, poets, filmmakers, singers, writers, storytellers, positive disrupters and more. 

Taking place over two days, across nine venues, in the streets and public spaces. From emerging talents to award winning voices, the weekend is a celebration of creative Tuam, by Tuam, for the West to enjoy.

The Artist in the Community Scheme 2023 (Round Two) is now open for applications. 

The aim of the AIC Scheme is to encourage meaningful collaboration between communities of place and/or interest and artists. Create defines community in the broadest sense of the word, however for the AIC Scheme the artist or artists must be collaborating with a community of non-arts professionals. Create defines collaborative arts as artists and communities working closely together, often over extended periods of time, to make art.

We are pleased to announce two online information sessions on applying to the Artist in the Community (AIC) Scheme. The information session is about answering any questions you might have about making an application to the Scheme. It’s also about sharing experience of developing and delivering a collaborative project through the Scheme.

With the support of the European Union’s Creative Europe programme, the European Media Art Platform continues its residency program for artists, artist duos, collectives or other artistic collaborations working in the fields of digital art, media art, robotic art and bio art. As a new feature to the EMAP residency programme they have introduced the “collaboration” component. Applicants are expected to include a proposal for a collaboration in their application.

In Hugh Lane Gallery’s annual Summer School for adults, the focus will be on film and photography. This 3-day Summer School invites participants to creatively and critically engage with moving image and photographic artworks.
