A coalition of Ireland’s leading media organisations have come together to launch a public fundraising campaign to aid the growing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The ‘Ireland for Ukraine’ campaign aims to raise funds for people affected by the conflict, which includes those who have been displaced.

50% of the total funds raised will be awarded to the international aid agencies: Irish Red Cross, Trócaire, UNICEF and Concern. The other half will be distributed to Irish charitable organisations and local community groups that will assist the anticipated 200,000 Ukrainian refugees expected to arrive in Ireland.

The objectives of this fund are:

  • To support local, regional and national organisations to adapt their work to respond to the emerging and medium-term needs of refugees fleeing Ukraine
  • To allow for greater collaboration and coordination across the sector to respond to the crisis in a more effective, impactful way
  • To ensure voices and agency of the beneficiary refugees is encouraged through the projects funded

Irish organisations working with refugees from Ukraine at a local, regional and national level can apply for a grant under the following strands:

  • Primary Response
  • Community Response
  • Specialised Response
  • Collaborative Response

Organisations can apply once to one of the Strands above.
