What is the Healthy Meath Micro Fund?
The Healthy Meath Micro Fund supports community and voluntary groups in County Meath to deliver local health and wellbeing projects. The grant scheme is overseen by the Meath Local Community and Development Committee.
What is the aim of the fund?
The fund aims to improve health and wellbeing in Meath by:
- Promoting healthy lifestyle behaviours to reduce chronic disease
- Supporting positive mental health in communities
What types of projects are funded?
Two funding streams are available:
- Healthy Lifestyle projects under one of six pillars:
Community Health Checks, SunSmart, Smoking and Vaping, Alcohol, Physical Activity, Healthy Eating - Positive Mental Health projects
How much funding is available?
Grants range from €500 to €2,000.
What types of proposals are considered?
The Healthy Meath Micro Fund comprises of 2 different support funds:
Support Fund for promoting a Healthy Lifestyle under one of the following 6 pillars outlined below ((Min Grant €500, Max Grant €2,000).
- Community Health Checks
- Being SunSmart
- Smoking and Vaping
- Alcohol Consumption
- Physical Activity
- Healthy Eating
Support Fund for promoting and improving Positive Mental Health (Min Grant €500, Max Grant €2,000).
Who can apply?
Community and voluntary groups based in County Meath that promote health and wellbeing.
Public sector organisations are not eligible.
Do groups need to be part of the PPN?
Groups are encouraged to be registered with and actively involved in the Meath Public Participation Network (PPN). Not necessary.
Is funding guaranteed if we apply?
No. The Healthy Meath Micro Fund is a competitive grant scheme and not all eligible applications will receive funding.
