Homelessness is unacceptable; and the levels in Ireland are way too high. This year, NYCI will be pushing for a plan to bring those numbers down, and to prevent young people from becoming homeless into the future.

Apply Now to Become Ireland’s next UN Youth Delegate 2026-2027
Applications are now open for Ireland’s United Nations Youth Delegate Programme 2026-2027. Young people from every county are invited to apply for the chance to represent young people living in Ireland, at the UN.

National Youth Consultation on Human Rights with Ireland’s UN Youth Delegates
On Thursday 19th February, 80 young people gathered from all across Ireland for NYCI’s National Youth Consultation on Human Rights. They discussed the human rights issues most important to them, and the changes that they would like to see on a local, national, and global level.

Irish Girl Guides: Celebrating 100 Years of Global Friendship
Over 10,000 Irish Girl Guides celebrated World Thinking Day on 22 February 2026, alongside more than 11 million Guides and Scouts across 150+ countries. To mark the 100th anniversary of this event, this year’s theme is “Our Friendship,” which is at the heart of Guiding.

ECO-UNESCO: Young Environmentalist Awards – Expanding ECO-Dens Semi-Finals 2026
The YEA semi-finals, ECO-Dens, have expanded to a new city in 2026: Limerick! With 300+ environmental action projects submitted this year, the ECO-Dens will be a chance for participants to showcase their hard work in front of a panel of judges in hopes of making it onto the Final Showcase in May.

Arts Council of Northern Ireland: Belfast Children’s Festival
This year’s Young At Art Belfast Children’s Festival take place 5th – 14th March. Their programme ranges from top quality shows from international artists, to some of the best performances for young audience from these shores, shows created specifically for disabled children and young people and those with neurodiversity or additional support needs, music gigs, circus, exhibitions, and their free Festival Family Day Out.
