Community Monuments Fund 2026

Meath County Council in conjunction with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage are inviting applications for the Community Monuments Fund 2026.

The grant scheme offers funding for the conservation, maintenance, protection and presentation of archaeological monuments.

This grant is now open for 2026. Deadline for submissions to the Heritage Section is Friday 30th of January by 5pm.

Applications and any queries in relation to this grant scheme should be addressed to heritage@meathcoco.ie  

The Community Monuments Fund has 3 streams: 

  • Stream 1 for essential repairs and capital works for the conservation and repair of archaeological monuments.
  • Stream 2 for the development of Conservation Management Plans/Reports aimed at identifying measures for the conservation of archaeological monuments and improving public access.
  • Stream 3 for enhancement of access infrastructure and interpretation (including virtual/online) at archaeological monuments.
