Meath LCDC Well being Day: Saturday 27th September 11am-3pm, Bettystown Civic Centre

The Meath LCDC Wellbeing Day will take place on the 27th of September from 11am to 3pm in Bettystown Civic Centre. This initiative is funded under the Dormant Accounts Fund 2024 and the Department of Rural and Community Development and The Gaeltacht – Projects/Actions for the provision of services to the LGBTI+ Community.
We have three guest speakers attending the event David Gough, Mark Donnelly and Dil Wickremasinghe. The Event MC will be Paddy Lawlor Journalist and founder of Navan Pride.

David Gough
David is a member of the Slane GFC club in Co. Meath. He began his refereeing career in 2008 and has been part of the All Ireland Elite Championship Refereeing Panel since 2013. He has refereed the top 4 All Ireland Football Finals in all major competitions, Senior, U21, Minor and club. In 2019 he led the GAA to walk in the Dublin Pride Parade while a year later he helped to launch a rainbow laces campaign in an All-Ireland Semi Final between Mayo and Tipperary where players also were involved as allies. In 2023 he launched a nationwide Rainbow Laces Campaign with SuperValu in the GAA with all proceeds going to BelongTo. He is a Primary School Principal by profession in Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál, Inchicore.
Mark Donnelly
Mark Donnelly is the founder of HUH Clothing (How’s Ur Head), Ireland’s largest mental health clothing brand. Through casual, conversation-starting apparel, Mark is breaking down stigma and normalising discussions around mental health in workplaces and beyond. HUH?
Mark brings a powerful and refreshingly honest voice to the conversation around mental health. With lived experience of his own personal battles with severe anxiety, self-confidence issues, body image struggles, depression, and OCD during his formative years. Mark speaks with authenticity and vulnerability, cutting through the noise of overly-sanitised narratives to share what it really feels like to struggle, cope, and survive.
Mark blends his lived experience with his interest in sport, business, and wellness to deliver talks that are both impactful and practical. His keynotes focus on building emotional resilience, fostering honest conversations, and creating psychologically safe spaces where people can truly show up as themselves, whether you’re planning a workplace wellness initiative or looking for an authentic, relatable voice to inspire and engage your audience.
Dil Wickremasinghe
Dil is a dedicated advocate for social justice and positive societal change. As a psychosexual psychotherapist, an international keynote speaker, including TEDx, a social entrepreneur, esteemed broadcaster, and respected journalist, Dil consistently sheds light on critical social issues.
Dil’s personal journey includes coming out to religious parents, resulting in homelessness at age 16 and facing discrimination and dismissal from her radio job in Sri Lanka due to her sexuality. Arriving in Dublin during Pride in June 2000, she found acceptance and love, co-founding Insight Matters with her wife Anne Marie Toole—a ground-breaking Gender Sexuality/Sex Relationship Diversity and LGBTQAI+ -affirming therapy centre supporting over 600 weekly clients nationally and internationally with a team of 100 dedicated practitioners.
In 2024, after taking a break from working in radio to train as a psychotherapist Dil returned to the air waves by hosting “Come In,” a weekly show on FM104. The series delves into new conversations, exploring less talked about topics in today’s LGBTQ+ community. Dil’s aim is to help society embrace diversity so that everyone can live fuller and more fabulous lives.
