Meath County Council wishes to advise that due to the hurricane Ophelia status red warning, its public offices will close from 11.00am this morning. This includes the Motor Tax Office, Libraries, and all Council run services. People are advised to heed the weather warnings in place and avoid any unnecessary travel. If you must travel, please watch out for fallen trees and debris. Do not cycle or walk, particularly in coastal areas, and do not touch any fallen wires. Text Alert Rebate Scheme

On 20 September 2017, the Minister for Justice and Equality, Charlie Flanagan, renewed the Text Alert Rebate Scheme for a further year. Muintir na Tíre will administer this scheme on behalf of all eligible Text Alert Groups. The scheme will see groups receive a rebate on their eligible operating costs. The exact amount of the rebate will be determined after all applications have been received but you cannot receive more than the total of eligible costs which are submitted. Navan Clean Up 29th September

We are doing the Clean Up Navan Campaign again for 2017, beginning on Friday 29th September at 10am, aiming to maintain the ‘Cleaner than European Norms’ status which was achieved in the latest IBAL Anti Litter League. We are meeting at Buvinda House (new Meath County Council Offices) at 10am to distribute pickers and bags.  Volunteers will then take part in litter picking and cleaning in the local area.  Meath County Council will collect the bags.  We will finish for refreshments in Buvinda at 12 noon.
